I am looking to connect with someone in the Personnel Security Field

Veteran

Mersadies Devlin New Braunfels, TX

I am interested in shifting back to the Security field and would like to focus on Personnel Security, Adjudication. I am looking for some mentorship on training and volunteer experience to beef up my resume.

I’d suggest that you network at the target company or industry. Use LinkedIn to find people already working there and reach out to them. Ask them the process they used to get hired and ask them to help you navigate the hiring process and if they are willing, ask them to submit you as a referral. These activities require much more time on your part but in my opinion would greatly increase your chances for success. Good luck!

Hi Mersadies,

Thank you for the question!

Here are some additional resources that could help in navigating the security space:

https://silentprofessionals.org/how-to-get-a-job-as-a-private-military-contractor/
https://totalsecurityadvisor.blr.com/emerging-issues-in-security/value-professional-security-certifications/

https://www.military.com/veteran-jobs/security-clearance-jobs/5-tips-for-breaking-into-the-security-industry.html

I would also suggest using the community tab to search for advisors and veterans in the "Law Enforcement and Security" industries in order to connect with professionals in the field who can give their expert advice on the best steps forward.

Best of luck!
