First set up a profile on LinkedIn if not already on there, see https://www.linkedin.com/in/richard-filippi/
Then use LinkedIn to search for particular positions, such as Cyber security etc. Fidelity and SAS as well as many other firms have operations in Raleigh NC. I am not familiar with your area of Greensboro, although my nephew Mathew Trifan is an MD at a hospital there.
Connect with me if you like on LinkedIn as I have over 2500 contacts at various IT and Financial firms, that I can introduce you to if they are at a company you are targeting. It is important to have someone on the inside to show your resume to a hiring manager. When you submit your resume online it is reviewed by a computer to see if you have certain key words. Which is a reason to tweak your resume for each position.

Simply put, what do you like to do?

Identify that, and find a job that lets you do that, and you'll never work a day in your life.

Nobody has mentioned joining the nuclear industry as a Cyber Security analyst. You can leverage your skills there, while looking to move into project management at a later date, and getting paid to do it.

Think about it. And best of all Nuclear pays very well.

Very solid education and certifications, Rose.
Questions:
1) What experience do you have that complements the education?
2) What do you want to do? I see hands on technical, technical project management, and process improvement. After a 40-year career, I have found that truly enjoying what you do and who you do it with is more important than trying to squeeze every dollar out of position.

Some thoughts, pick a medium skill role such as PM(Program Manager, Project Manager) or in Security instead of IT Helpdesk, that will give you more chance of growth and enjoying work. Or your current one of enabling learning.

Also, tune each resume sent for each job. Keep putting cycles in getting better. For example, use chatgpt to improve your resume or your plan

I have sent a linkedin request, feel free to message me as needed!

Wow! With your education, you could have tons of options. I agree with the prior stating to setup a LinkedIn account. I’ll offer to link to you and expand your network. I have about 2k people in my network. We can try to connect you with some folks to talk who can better answer your questions. One person in my network who would be a good fit to talk with is Jim Morphew. I can get you a call if you like.

With your education, I think companies like Google, Microsoft, banking would have an interest. Check out their jobs and see if anything resonates.

Love to chat so reach out anytime!

Thank you for your selfless service. You have a tremendous skill set for IT and there are a fair amount of jobs that are open. Healthcare generally requires full vaccination, but i assume the military does as well so just wanted to give you a heads up on that. I spent 16 years in Healthcare IT and found it the most rewarding industry to be in. you have background for cybersecurity (this is huge in healthcare), a PM or a business analyst position could be a potential fit. If you would like to discuss further please let me know. I have a large number of contacts in LinkedIn if you want to connect. My name is Dennis McIntyre. Please respond here or email me at dmci07@yahoo.com if you would like to discuss further. Good luck.

Rose,
After I retired from the Navy, I didn't know what I wanted to do. So I found a job helping people transitioning from the Military find employment. What I learned was that the most important thing was to find what you really love to do. It took me 15 years of trying many jobs and careers until I figured out what made me happy. So here is a formula you can try:
- What is your mission? What problem do you want to help solve? What do you think is the biggest problem in your community, state, country or the planet that you would like to work on?
- What role do you want to play? For example, do you want to use your computer skills to reduce hunger in your local public schools? Be as specific as possible. Don't think in terms of a specific job title but rather in terms of how you want to spend your time in support of your mission.

When you have figured out your mission and role, then get out and talk to people who share your mission. People with similar missions or roles join Professional Associations and are located in almost every community. Find them in your community, go to a meeting, share your passion, and ask for assistance in finding the perfect job for you. People who know their mission what to help people that share their mission.

If none of these work for you, go to the Chamber of Commerce or Junior Chamber of Commerce.
Good luck!

Good Day Ms. Lopez,
You've accomplished a great amount of valuable education.
If the military doesn't suit you then of course other govt entities are always looking for your skills and talents.
FBI, DEA, CBP all of which offer opportunities you are seeking, these will give you more actual experience.
I would also suggest speaking to the officer recruiters of all branches of the Military if you have gotten out. Applying as an Officer find out what designations they are offering and see which branch offers you the best program incentives. And rank.
Regardless, additional experience in your field will help propel you.
Blessings and Good Luck in your search.

I actually don’t care much about how much I make, I am thinking I want to go in to IT project management, but don’t have a strong background in PM as of yet. Below is the experience I have listed on my resume for this position.

I guess with my education I am wanting to know what options seem like they might be a good fit for me.

I have a strong love for both IT and PM, so I feel this is the position that I would be best suited for, but I also and wondering what other positions would incorporate both. I am also currently working on SSGB. I just feel the six sigma is helpful in PM processes.
