Seeking position in Project Management and or Business Analysis

Veteran

Joel Melnick Salem, OH

Hello, I'm currently seeking roles in project management and Business Analysis. I'm currently applying to positions at PNC, Key Bank, Deloitte, and a few other companies either remote or in office. I'd love to speak to some recruiters or points of contacts in these fields or at these companies. Thank you very much.

Aside from your technical capabilities, you will need to expand your connections at those and other firms. This is best done via LinkedIn. The reason for this is that when you apply online there is a computer system that reviews your resume for key words. If those words are not there it is rejected. These programs are not designed to look for most qualified but simply to eliminate the thousands of resumes it receives. With connections at the firms, you can approach them and let them know you are applying for a particular position. Most firms have referral programs, which reward employees for referring people to positions.
Reach out to former classmates, military contacts, etc. the broader your connections (should be above 500) the better. Please reach out to me as I have over 2500 contacts, some at the firms you are reaching out to.
Regards,

Hi Joel! Just to add to what Maxine mentioned, I believe she's referring to the International Institute of Business Analysis (iiba.org).

Hey Joel, I saw the location and laughed. I grew up just down the road in Hanoverton. Guessing that's not your current location or you're willing to relo? I did a quick scan of the network and have a couple connections at PNC and Keybank and a sizable handful at Deloitte (past and current). Glad to work them a bit and see if a few will connect with you to discuss. Good luck regardless, Dan

You did not mention your education? The term Project Management is so broad as to be almost meaningless. If it is Construction Project Management, I suggest you find a job with a construction company - even an entry level job - and prove your abilities to move into Construction Project Management. Also I suggest you take some courses in the field and most importantly some courses in Contracts and Contract Administration.

Good luck.
