Hi Danielle,
Thank you for your service. I would imagine in your sales and business experience you did some aspects of agile project management without probably realizing it. Same with your education experience. Diversity, equity, and inclusion exist to some degree in most education spaces, albeit some leaders are better than others at making DEI a continous improvement priority. So you likely already have some DEI experinece but just aren't thinking of it in that way.

I'd be happy to review your resume if you'd like to send it to me and assist you with updating it for the job opportunities in which you have interest.

Hello Danielle,
You mentioned your general experience, but think also of your Naval experience and how it might translate in your resume to organizational, management, leadership, and people skills that would fit your desires. Also, consider positions in public service at the federal, state, or local level that can provide opportunities.
In writing your resume, focus on accomplishment that shows you can complete tasks and missions and how the Navy taught you to work in a diverse community while doing so.
Ensure that you have a LinkedIn page where potential employers can see you.
Best wishes!

I’d suggest that you network at the target company or industry. Use LinkedIn to find people already working there and reach out to them. Ask them the process they used to get hired and ask them to help you navigate the hiring process and if they are willing, ask them to submit you as a referral. These activities require much more time on your part but in my opinion would greatly increase your chances for success. Good luck!
