I’m also unsure of what “industry” automotive service and repair falls into—service and retail? Small biz?
I’m seeking advice and mentorship from women auto shop biz owners.
My biz idea is to open an auto shop with a nail/hair salon. I want to hire all-female (or otherwise under-represented) auto technicians and nail/hair technicians.
Thanks for any advice you can give!

Hi Laura,
I would go work in an auto shop and observe all you can. Then you can see how things work, who comes in, and you can visualize the nail salon part. All this while getting paid. Keep in touch. I can help with other people skills. Good luck!

Hi Laura,
Thank you for your question!
I would suggest taking a look at our “Community” tab if you have not done so already. From there, you could click on the “Advisors” section. You could filter by industry and search for individuals with a background in both small business and the service industry. From there, you could directly message advisors and ask them specific questions that you have.
I hope this helps!
Best,
Alex
Hi Laura,
Consider reaching out to Patrice Banks, founder of Girls Auto Clinic in Philly. Had the good fortune to have a brief meeting with her while working on a special project a couple of years ago. She's a dynamic and driven individual. Check out more at: https://www.girlsautoclinic.com/
