Answers
Hi Alphonso
Send me your resume and a few 1-hour blocks of time that you to talk.
More than willing to help anyway I can. And have some general advice for job hunting and career development.
Looking forward to helping however I can.

Alponso,
It would be helpful if you were to provide more clarity in what area you need mentoring. The ACP program has an application to complete, which provides them more specific information on what area/career you are seeking assistance in. After you select a career, I would research what Informational Interviews are and start conducting them with people working in your position right now today. This is gathering information on that career operates and what language they use in the private sector. This is a wonderful way to learn about the career and also network, as you are speaking with people doing today what you are interested in doing upon your departure from the military. Thanks for your service.
Sergeant Boone - Here’s a couple of places to investigate. Hope this helps you.
1. “The Long Walk Home Nonprofit Organization” says this … Our mentorship program is designed to help veterans and families make their transition to civilian life. They are in Venice, Florida
2. Mentors for Hillsborough County - Their Mission Statement:
“To help identify, treat, rehabilitate, and to seamlessly reintegrate the veteran back into the community where he or she earlier swore to protect and defend; Serve as a platform for community awareness and education of the VTC program; Provide training and advisory support to requested VTC programs (intra and interstate levels); Advocate for pertinent Veterans legislation (local, state and federal levels).” www.mentorsforhillsboroughcounty.org
Good luck Army.
Hi Alphonso,
Thank you for your question! We actually have a Community table feature on our site where you can either use the map to find Advisors in your area, or filter by Zip Code. Here you can also refine by expertise if you are looking to connect with someone in a specific field.
Good luck!
Best,
Sophia
