Amazon AWS Solution Architect/DevOps position

Veteran

Is there any chances of someone with a Masters degree in Information Security and Assurance to get employment in AWS cloud? I am certified and with hands on experience from a boot camp and personal training.

Hello Ayo,

I am adding the following link on AWS careers for veterans:
https://aws.amazon.com/careers/military/

If you are interested in AWS apprenticeship: https://www.amazon.jobs/en/landing_pages/mil-apprentice?cmpid=DSDDAW402026B

There, you can find a form to sign up:

I’d suggest that you network at AWS. Use LinkedIn to find people already working there and reach out to them. Ask them the process they used to get hired and ask them to help you navigate the hiring process and if they are willing, ask them to submit you as a referral. These activities require much more time on your part but in my opinion would greatly increase your chances for success. Good luck!

Hello Ayo:
Sure you can get a position in AWS! You have a good degree. You already have one AWS cert. I suggest get a few of the basic AWS certifications in the field of your interest. Your degree, along with certifications will open the doors you need. There are good, free, online AWS cert courses. Go through a few of those. I presume you know that you can also set up a free AWS account, to learn with, that is good for one year.

There is high demand right now for IT AWS/Azure cloud positions.

Good luck,
Joe
