Grants for Black female farmers

Veteran

Joyce Braden Madison, AL

I already own the land, what I'm interested in is acquiring funds (grants) for fencing and livestock.

American Farmland Trust has a program called Women for the Land. Maybe worth checking out? They also have grants programs. Some awardees have used grants to purchase equipment, develop strategy, etc.

Hi Joyce, thanks for your inquiry. Grants.gov would be a great place to start searching grants for funding for your farm. The site also features a community blog, grant writing tips, a user guide and support center. There are also many websites like GrantGopher.com that may be useful. However, a lot of sites have some sort of fee for using them.

I hope this helps!
