Hi, My name is Frank & I am frank. I am a veteran and retired & have the ability to help you get the right job & the one you want! Send me your resume to review & provide feedback. Let’s see how well you present yourself on paper. Here are some general ideas: Know Yourself – Analyze your goals & the job you want. Research the Internet & get real familiar with your field of interest & a specific job. Check out web sites including: usajobs.gov; Monster; Indeed & LinkedIn for job info & announcements. Develop a Story Line (your strengths). List a few examples (3 to 5) of highlights you did or can do. The Story Line is your summary used in the cover letter, resume, interview, storytelling, & life. Try to match your Story Line with the job you want. My Story line is:
• 50 years successful business management experience resulting in improvements (examples can be provided)
• Effective communicator including writing reports for Congress & teaching business classes @ a University
• Traveled extensively including researching & auditing 50 major companies
• Efficiently recruited, hired, trained, supervised, & reviewed hundreds of resumes.
Thank you. I will respond immediately & assist in your efforts. fxc1891@verizon.net

Oscar,
First do not pay to have a resume drafted. Hire Heroes USA is a great place that has a great track record in helping veterans transition. Second, you should always build a resume to match a job posting. In fact the resume should be checked to make sure you meet all of the criteria needed, and you detail that in your resume. General resumes should only be used at hiring fairs or veteran sponsored hiring events. A site called jobscan.co will accept your resume and compare it a job posting, providing you a % match of key words, i.e. skills, experience requirements etc. I would also suggest connecting with Micheal Quinn on LinkedIn, he provides free virtual classes via the USO on how to leverage LinkedIn and networking to assist your job search. Thanks for your service. God Bless
Also happy to assist. I've done a couple of articles on this topic on this site plus much more hard-hitting information on 212-careers.com
Simple advice: 2-3 lines max, action verbs, what you "did" not what you have, accomplishments not skills. C-A-R mini technique (on my 212 career site): Challenge - Action - Result.
Oscar, I'd be happy to help you. You can either email me what you have for editing, in Microsoft Word, or we can talk about how to proceed in more general terms. Let me know which you prefer. gbaccetti@hotmail.com
