Good Day Everyone,

I'm a disabled Veteran reinventing myself in a field I truly enjoy. Information Technology, Information assurance and Cyber Security. I have finish a bootcamp type program (ACI Learning) and I am back in college at Purdue University Global with the intent to get a Masters in Cyber Security. But at this time I am working on the BS in IT and Information assurance. I appreciate and feed back and insight. My LinkedIn : https://www.linkedin.com/in/michaeldavidconnell/

Hi Michael!
Thank you for your service. I work for a tech company out of Silicon Valley specializing in automation of back office systems. I read a benchmark report in December from the ACFE (Association of Certified Fraud Examiners) detailing cyber security fraud being up 88% and payment fraud being up 82% since the onset of the Pandemic in March of 2020. There is a lot of opportunity for experts with your unique experience.

I reviewed your LinkedIn. It’s solid. I also sent you the link to the careers page at my company. If you see something of interest that aligns with your objectives, please let me know. I’d be happy to discuss.

Best regards,
Mary

Dear Michael,

Cybersecurity is not my area of expertise, although I am very interested in the subject.

Many of the articles that I have read suggest that a better approach is to get whatever certificates you need to qualify for the position that you want. The basis for this approach is that there is such a shortage of cybersecurity specialists, it would very easy to be hired today, without a college degree.

Once hired, you can always complete your degree requirements while you are working. Consider the following email that I received from www.cybrary.it:

Do you need a cybersecurity degree to start or advance your career? The answer is:

No!

Simply put, there aren't enough cybersecurity professionals in the industry. 70% of organizations report being impacted by a shortage of cybersecurity talent.

College degrees can't keep up with the cybersecurity job demand anymore, and companies don't have the luxury to wait 2 – 4 years for students to get a well-rounded college education.

Companies are looking for talent NOW. That's why individuals like you are turning to Cybrary Insider Pro for the education and experience they need to prepare them for the job market.

Michael-- Good luck with your transition and thank you for your Service!

Sincerely,
Bob Jurasek
