What school courses did you take to get licensed as a contractor?
Is there a program for veterans?
A little about me: I have real estate licenses in California and Florida

Good evening Matthew,
Thank you for your service and for your question! In terms of becoming a contractor, you must apply for a certified contractors license. I see you're based in Florida, all applicants must pass the Florida State Construction Examination.
The U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs does offer reimbursement for certain courses and licenses! I am attaching this PDF to this message: https://benefits.va.gov/BENEFITS/factsheets/education/LCTR.pdf for more information.
The Contractors State License Board has a program called Veterans Application Assistance!
Additionally, I recommend giving this article a read: https://www.gijobs.com/getting-contractors-license/
Here is a quick debrief about license expectations in Florida: https://www.myfloridalicense.com/CheckListDetail.asp?SID=&xactCode=1043&clientCode=0605&XACT_DEFN_ID=18348.
I hope this helps and best of luck with your endeavors!
All the best,
Maya
Good Day Matthew,
I suggest you register with your local State Employment Services Center where you can meet with an Employment Counselor who can recommend available vocational training grants to get you started in becoming certified for an in-demand occupation for contractors. Much success to you.
