Who do I go to to learn about mining business?

Raymond Biskner Norfolk, VA

I've been researching this project for over three years now, and I'm trying to find a pro's brain I can pick to see what parts I've missed in this process before I start bringing in investors.

How do I reach industry professionals who will give me a fair shake and a realistic eye on what I have left to set up before I put the shovels to the dirt?

One of the above answers mentioned the SBA, but many times the SBA is located in the Chamber of Commerce office. Depending upon where you are located, you may need to search some to find a Chamber who has mining expertise in their SCORE team. It is a great source for people who have worked in the industry you are looking to head into. Mining is a unique market, keep search Chamber's. Thanks for your service. God Bless

Hi Raymond,

Thanks so much for your service, and thank you for your question. There are two programs that I would recommend for your stage of small business development:

I think both of those resources will be more tailored to your plan and background. Additionally, I would suggest perusing similar inquiries on this site, as many of the advisors who have answered are open to direct messages.

Hi Raymond,
Thanks for the great question. I would suggest exploring our mentors and proteges in the community feature You can narrow down your search by career field; using the energy field might be best. Then, you can read through each profile to see if any of our mentors or proteges have experience in mining. Once you find someone with a background that aligns, you can reach out directly to these individuals to ask your career questions. I hope this helps.
