Having spent a number of years assisting service members transition into the commercial market, I applaud your offerings on this platform. A number of service members would have the necessary experience for your first position, minus the robotics experience. Many service members will start supervision within their first 4 years of service and anyone with over 8 years depending upon their role has been supervising staff for quite a few years. If the company is willing to offer some flexibility in the robotics field and offer some training your candidate pool would grow exponentially. You will also find a number of service members with Six Sigma quality training. The second position maybe too technical for service members, outside of those working in Navy or Air Force.
Many times this is where the disconnect between the commercial work force and the transitioning service members will open up. When companies desire tight industry experience, when very qualified managers would fit, if companies are willing to assist with some uptake on part of the position. Manager military managers will have welding managerial experience, few may have that robotic experience. Companies who take the chance find the learning curve for veterans is very fast, as training is a constant activity in the service, and expectations are very high and fast paced. Again, thank you for your offers and hopefully this shines some light on why some of your candidates may not match 100%!
