I am seeking advice on how to get my foot in the door with a Human Resources position?

Veteran

RODERICK WILLIAMS Germantown, MD

I have a variety of H.R. skillsets albeit they are not the most traditional H.R. career path I am still versed in the various components of H.R. but I am having a hard time articulating this. Needless to say, I have my MBA in Human Resource Mgmt. I am open to share a resume and/or phone calls. Please advise. Thank you

I’d suggest that you network at the target company or industry. Use LinkedIn to find people already working there and reach out to them. Ask them the process they used to get hired and ask them to help you navigate the hiring process and if they are willing, ask them to submit you as a referral. These activities require much more time on your part but in my opinion would greatly increase your chances for success. Good luck!

Contact USAA in San Antonio. They are a veteran centric employer. Ask to start at the "bottom" to prove your worth.

You have a leg-up" with your MBA.

Good luck.

Hello Rodrick and Thank You for your Service,

You can see my profession is Certified Executive Career Coach who has a 26 year background in HR. If you are the LinkedIn platform, let's connect there. I can offer you a pro-bono resume critique and complimentary coaching session.

If you are not on LinkedIn, I am unsure how we might connect, however I am open to any suggestions.
