Good advice from above, please do not pay for transition assistance! Your LinkedIn career profile is very military. I realize you have clarified to the best of your current ability. Next you need to choose the career you want! Once you make that decision, learn, study, and know the language of that new career. Then re-do your profile and create a master resume and for any job posting you apply tailor it to the job posting and be sure to hit key words. Run your resume and the job posting through jobscan.co (yes co). This will outline what keywords you are using and better yet what ones you are missing.
Join some professional groups on LinkedIn and or professional groups on Facebook. Also sign up for American Corporate Partners and Veterati for mentors. At E-7 you should have a commercial person in or close to your career assist you in learning the career. Hope these couple of short reads help. P.S. you LinkedIn profile, put your desired career in the TAG and a Masters degree sits above all of the degrees.
Good examples of “to the point” profiles are Mark Broc, PMP, SSGB, CSM and Jack Eisenhauer, Global Supply Chain. All have had long careers, but emphasized experiences and accomplishments that offer examples of the career they are searching for.
Again, TAG line concise to a career field, short summary of your qualifications, and accomplishments with #$% to accent value will keep recruiters reading. Remember that you are part of the 0.5% of Americans who serve their country. You are very well respected, but the chance civilians have been part of the 0.5% simply means they will not understand your language or experiences-without translation. Nice to meet you, my name is Shae, currently a SSG in the Army Guard and I transitioned out of active duty almost 2 years ago. I would put a quantifiable number on all your experience to properly convey how much you've done. Any way you can add a number for the people managed, years on a project, years of experience, value of assets managed, value added / saved due to your projects would help. I did not have any experience in the current field I am in, just one intermediate level certification, so this was huge for me. Once I was able to properly quantify my experience on my resume, I received a lot of response back from interviews. Best of luck on your future endeavors!
