Eugene:
Your expertise in Logistics is still valuable. Combining the two could be a differentiator for you on certain contracts.

I've worked on a few contracts where having someone w/ Army Logistics expertise combined with knowledge was beneficial for the work being accomplished. Regarding starting a career, you need to figure out what role you are interested in and begin pursuing certifications.

Eugene,
First you may narrow your focus on your LinkedIn profile. You are searched by the TAG line, and when they see multiple careers, they move past your profile to someone who matches the job they are looking for. You need to decide on your search, your Informational Interviews and much more what direction you want to head, as search with so many careers, honestly people are saying "we want someone who knows what they want to do"? Do not mean to sound tough, but it is the truth. Thank you for your service and God Bless. Maybe these quick reads might help.
Good examples of “to the point” profiles are Mark Broc, PMP, SSGB, CSM and Jack Eisenhauer, Global Supply Chain. All have had long careers, but emphasized experiences and accomplishments that offer examples of the career they are searching for.

Eugene - Some of the hottest skills these days are in the topics of data analytics, data visualization, data interpretation and data science. Some people specialize in these topics, but almost all roles value these skills - logistics, business, etc. So if you don't have these skills, you might want to check out these topics as they could be a differentiating factor for you.

Hi Eugene,

Thank you for your service and your question. The best way to narrow down your career direction would be to work with a mentor. An ACP Mentor would be able to work with you for the next year to help find out where your skills lie and how to best utilize them.

Alternatively, you may also reach out to advisors in our Community section on AdvisorNet (https://acp-advisornet.org/community/advisors). Here you can message advisors, narrowing it down by location and career expertise.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Best,
Noah
