Establishing yourself as a short-term consultant

Kris Kvam Washington, DC

I am unsure of what I want for a second career so I would like to take short-term consultant jobs in various fields. Additionally, I would like some flexibility in where I will live next as well as take some time to enjoy my retirement. What is a good way to establish yourself as a consultant? Does Deloitte keep a pool of consultants for short-term work? What are the limitations of short-term consultant work versus full-time employment at a firm such as Deloitte?

Thanks. A conversation would be great. I'll get back with you on date soonest.

Sounds like you need some guidance and have a lot of stuff running around in your head.

The nice thing is you're in DC, where a lot of contractors are (a target-rich environment, if you will).

The best opportunities can be fleshed out with a conversation rather than extensive emails or messges.

If you'd like some help figuring this out, it would be my pleasure, I've already worked with Lt Commander for similar issues and he got a great job! I'd love to see that happen with you as well.

Here's the link to my calendar. Feel free to schedule me and I look forward to talking with you,
