Syracuse University offers project management certification. I am not sure about experience and qualification? Please check it out, most of the folks I heard who picked one up where senior NCO's or Officer's who had plenty of project management experience over their years of tenure.
With that said, there is no reason to study in the field, look in SCRUM or other software used in the field.
The above represents business projects. If you are interested in the construction industry, I would seek a mentor with ACP in that line of work. Or conduct Informational Interviews with professionals in the project management side of construction/renovation projects.
