Alan, your best bet for building your resume is not your VMET - it's your annual military performance evaluations that say what you did and how well you did it. It's also your military awards and honors, they can be your success stories on your resume. Use VMET to build up your education and job-related skills section. Your job blocks will rely much more on your evals and awards.

I specialize in writing Vet to Fed resumes - if you're interested in Federal civilian work, please get in touch.

Alan (my middle name is Alan; what a great name!)

A VMET may include a bare minimum amount of information you can put on your résumé to help you find some phrasing to explain certain parts of your past job(s). But Lex is right; evals are a much better source. A résumé shouldn't be written like a VMET or a job description; that's the biggest mistake people make! Instead, give specific examples that demonstrate your past success and which are related to the qualifications in the job posting.

Hi Alan, I can help build your resume and provide a template for you to add on - if you want to send me what you have I can start to format for you.

Kind regards, Kathryn
