The low oil prices have been an advantage to Refineries and Petrochemical companies due to cheaper feedstock. There are definitely job opportunities there. However, rig count has been on the steep decline from over 940 to current levels...and it is projected to continue declining as service companies drop their rigs & frac beds. I will not recommend going into those roles as the market will be saturated with those skillsets.
