Hello Daniel Sudmeier ⋅ I'll attempt to answer your question

Good Afternoon, I am Daniel Sudmeier a transitioning Marine with 21 years of service. After teaching Security+ for a bit I've always had lingering questions at to how the energy industry is moving forward with protecting critical infrastructure and assets from cyber threats?

Our industry faces massive threats on a daily basis and we have a large group of Cyber professionals to constantly deal with threats of all shapes and sizes. Ironically, we recently had a global webcast from our cybersecurity experts (4 of which are ex-FBI agents) to share how we can all protect ourselves (and the company and the company's data). The threats have increased in recent weeks with everyone working from home and not necessarily having "secure" systems.

I hope this helps a little

Hello Michael Mallard ⋅ I'll attempt to answer your questions:

What business lines are located in Houston? e.g. are corporate teams globally focused, or specifically on Western Hemisphere operations? Houston primarily supports all our Gulf of Mexico Operations. However, we are also the main location for our wind energy business, our global gas and power trading organization, and some of the global services to support technology development.

How common is it to transfer between Houston & London or vice verse? I would not say it is "common" to transfer between Houston and London as it's an expensive proposition to have Expat employees. However, there are many people that work around the globe, originally based in one location. It really depends on the "special" skills that employees have that can't be sourced locally by the workforce there. We also provide Expat assignments to people in order to build capability.

I hope that helps!

Good afternoon - I've been with BP for over 13 years now and was an active mentor with a Navy Lt. Commander who was retiring and seeking his "next home". I have an Industrial Engineering degree from Penn State and have worked in defense system and commercial electronics, both on the OEM and Contract Services, side of the business, in many capacities. At BP I've supported our pipeline/logistics org, onshore drilling operations, corporate compliance, and now offshore operations in the Gulf of Mexico. Happy to answer any questions and nice to virtually meet you.

For the veterans, THANK YOU for your service! It is GREATLY appreciated and I understand the sacrifice you've made to our country. I have friends and family who are both Active and Veterans.

Good morning,
I am transitioning service member with 20 plus years of experience in the electronics maintenance field. With advice from my brother in-law as well as the current crisis the country is undergoing. I realize that it is important to get into a field that will be stable and potentially grow from its current state. I realize the energy sector is one of those communities. Be it gas or electric it only grows from there on how those sources can be divided further as well as the potential for innovation. I want to be one of those person that are there at the forefront.
