I would connect with Michael Quinn on LinkedIn, he posts almost everyday and is a former CSM, who really struggled-he now does online programs on branding your self via LinkedIn. The key is nail down a career early on, and spend time researching the career. Informational Interviews are a key part of learning your new career, from the civilian side. One thing Michael emphasizes is to be sure you tailor you LI profile to the career and make sure every resume is tailored to that position posting. I am sending you a couple of articles, as you have way more than one career listed on your LI profile and a very military profile that needs to be pared down to match your one career. Civilians not select that career, they want to find you with a keyword search on A CAREER. Informational Interviews are very helpful once you pick that career. Civilians like to help military learn about their career, take advantage of that, learn what the metrics are that drive the career, what keywords are used, take good notes or ask if you can record the call. You have to understand leadership in the civilian world is a skill not a career, so make sure your profile and subsequent resumes match that career field and remove non-career oriented material.
