Hello Melsew,

That should be very easy. It seems like every department is looking. The issue is that more and more State and City Police Departments have a prerequisite of education or military.

I worked as a Detective with the NYPD and spent some time in personnel, doing pre-hire investigations. We require 60 credits or 24 months active duty. That seems to be a national standard. If you need the college, there are online programs and credits available for life experience. You probably have enough already. I had to help those that needed the college credits by finding ways to get them (both as it was my job and also a good way to get qualified cops, especially the military vets.)

If you want to chat about it let me know. -Rob
