Besides the usual of FB/LI, and such, you may consider Meetup.com Look in your area, for groups that have interests that are specific to what you're wanting.

You may also find eventbrite to be a good source for networking and classes events.

You didn't specify as to if you're looking for advice on businesses for employment, or to start/expand your business, so I'll include a couple for the latter, as well. Both of these varies by area, and different people get different results, which are your local chamber of commerce and BNI (networking group).

There's the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Likewise, you may be able to find local groups on Meetup and the above sites. Sometimes, a social group can have vets in it, or people who know vets.
