Combining my background in business with my new skill set

Veteran

Thanh Nguyen Chicago, IL

Recently transitioned as a software developer with a strong background in business. I wanted to ask how would I combine my skills and my background to generate value for a company?

I have had many interests and these stuck with me through the years. Real estate, cybersecurity (aka ethical hacking), and anything financial related (accounting systems, payment gateway/portals, ACH transactions, and etc.).

I was hoping to explore the possible avenues I could embark on. Thanks.

Thanks for reaching out and your service to our country, Thanh.
Your IT cybersecurity background and interest in Finance is a win-win in today's environment.
You may want to look into a cybersecurity role in a bank or other financial institution that would allow you several career paths going forward.
I have contact in that arena who has worked with me before with ACP on this very career path.
Be happy to introduce you if you would like.

Hello Thanh,

In Real Estate, you can get your license and specialize in military housing and military move. I own a real estate company in DC MD and VA in which my team and I do this. I do more commercial and my team members do more residential.
If you decide to go into real estate, moving your location to a specific area would be advisable plus get a mentor.
