Hi Eric,

I was not certain from the message you wrote in terms of what kind of insurance career you are seeking for; however, my advise regardless, is to look for a company/agency that is a "true" non captive and really fair to their consumers.
You want to be as much diversified as possible in what you can offer in this era. This is the era of information. You want to be versatile in order to be valuable to consumers. Otherwise they would feel they can "google it".

There are companies/agencies that say they are "non-captive" but aren't in reality, such as only representing a 3-5 companies or companies somewhat related to their parents' companies. That would not make you completely fair to your customers.

Also, if you are OK with cold knocking type of method to expand your business. Many agencies still let you do that and the seniors take all the credit for it.
Some company/agencies still do such rigid and old way to "find clients".

If you want to help people, be fair and informative to people, through helping them with their insurance needs, you definitely want to look into those things than just a brand name or the outlook of it.

Let me know if you want to share with me what you are looking for a little more in detail. I may have someone in Dallas area that runs a complete non-captive brokerage (representing more than 300 companies).

Have a great day Eric,

Asako
