I have been applying for a job since I retired on 31 June 2017. However, as of today I have not been contacted. So, I have decided to look at others opportunities. Such as, starting my own small business. How do I get started with this process of starting a business?

Hi Ronnie,
Thanks for your service.
I am familiar with Evans and know that it is close to what was called Augusta State University but I think the name has changed.
In most Universities they provide help in developing a business plan through the Small Business Development centers on campus I suggest you contact the campus and find out what may be available to you, There is no fee
Good luck

Hi Ronnie,

For help starting a business contact your local SCORE office. This is an organization linked to the SBA.
They help small business owners and people starting a business. Check out their website Score.org. Their services are free.

Good luck

Ronnie, first off, thank you for your service. How many jobs have you applied for ? If the number isn't in the 100's that would be a place to start talking. When it comes to starting a business it's kind of a complicated, do you have an idea of a business to start, do you have the money needed to start a business, is your idea unique, do you know where to find resources in your area (Legal, Financial, Mentoring). I have run a business for over 30 years if you want email me at mike@tendon.com and we can kick around some ideas.

Your lack of responses is likely due to a blah resume. I have a proven process for transforming your current resume into a Top 1% Resume. Historically, people who diligently followed the process received calls to set up an interview within 24-72 hours after submitting their application and resume. The process includes an example resume of BEFORE and AFTER for a former officer who submitted his BEFORE resume over several months with no responses. He acquired a Corporate-level position in a Fortune 500 company 1 week after he submitted his application and AFTER resume. Same person, same skills, a better marketing approach. slmathews99@gmail.com

Hi Ronnie! Start by reading the first 4 chapters of Think and Grow Rich. Here's my article about this book: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/why-you-need-read-think-grow-rich-jim-rohrbach/

When you finish that, get in touch and I'll help you take another step. Jim "Da Coach" Rohrbach Email: Coach@SuccessSkills.com
