I am starting the transitioning process from military to civilian (retiring Feb 2020). I have been approved by the headquarters supervisors to participate in the DoD Skillbridge program starting in September 2019.
I am currently based and located in Long Island, New York, and very interested in starting my next career in a management role within the IT field. My background includes Intelligence communication, Instructor roles, and over 10 years of leadership and management.
Does BP offer internship opportunities for veterans in their IT or HR department?
BP is currently working with Hiring our Hero's through their Skill Bridge program called The Corporate Fellowship Program. This is a 12 week internship.
We also have the Military Placement Program that is a 12 month paid internship in our Trading and Supply business. I can send you information on this program which has all program details and application timelines.
We also have many internships but these our mostly targeted to college students, or early careers.
It would be great to connect so I can send you a full listing on what is available in ways of internships.
Thank you for your service!
Hi Jason. I am not aware if BP participates or not. I will have to look into it and follow up.
As to your second question, BP's professional opportunities are open to all Veterans.
I work in HR / Learning & Development in our Supply & Trading business. I currently serve as the Program Manager for our Military Placement Program in Chicago, which is a 12-month program that provides top military leavers the opportunity to gain commercial experience within our organization.
I see that Yasmin agreed to send you details about the program. Please feel free to reach out to me with any additional questions you have.
Hi Charles & Yasmin,
Thank you for your time and response.
Yasmin, I would like to connect and get more details on the Military Placement program. I am aware of the HOH Corporate Fellowship Program and is good to know that BP participates with them. Thanks for the support.
Looking forward to the information.
