How can I get employment in such a remote area?

Veteran

Robert Van Hemel Haugan, MT

I have excellent electronic experience in Radio and IT, but can't find any local employment.
Blackfoot Communication seems to be the only one around here, and Federal jobs seem to be a "invite-only".
I live in the far West of Montana and do not wish to relocate. Most of my work can be done with the Internet.
However, if I get offered to do the Communications for the Law Enforcement, I would wish to be limited to Superior MT.

Robert,
There is a site that lists niche job boards. Look for remote working job boards, especially if you are in IT. If you are able to perform a valuable service on line or via the phone, many companies have a lot of remote employees. I would look through Indeed at positions you qualify for, as a check to see if you are able to be of service off site. If this is possible then re-do you LI profile and personal networking to let people know your value, w/o moving. P.S. my grandparents lived in the Moise valley, so always spent summer vacations until GPA died around 1967. You are remote!
