Does anyone offer pet sitting insurance?

Veteran

I am starting a pet sitting and dog walking business and need to get insurance and a bond. The few companies that I've found only offer the insurance with a yearly payment required. I need to do monthly payments. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Jeni,
I own a dog business and have used a few different companies. I would try The Hartford first. I’m not sure about the payment options for general liability. I usually pay it up front because it isn’t a large sum in the grand scheme of things. Have you talked to an insurance broker? They may be able to offer more options. If you need a recommendation, I can refer you to my broker - I’m in Pennsylvania. You should also join a national pet services association. Pet Sitters International would apply directly to you. They usually provide a lot of vendor options for their members.
Good luck with your business!

Hi Jeni,

Good to see you again! Thank you for posting your question. I did a bit of research and it looks like there is some great information on this article (https://fitsmallbusiness.com/small-business-insurance-companies/) with some pros and cons of a handful of small business insurance companies. I would also highly recommend hopping over to our Community page (https://acp-advisornet.org/community/advisors) and reach out directly to as many Advisors as you like. You can search Advisors by industry, and there is one for Small Business as well as Insurance!

I hope this helps Jeni!

Best,
Taylor Boggio
