Robert,

There is a wealth of expertise on this list, and a willingness to help. But more info from you would generate the best results for you.

What skills do you have? What work have you been doing? etc.

Best wishes!

Temp agency may be a good option

Hello Robert,

Thank you for your question, and thank you for your service!

I am really sorry to hear about your circumstances, and it seems like the pressure is on to once again achieve financial balance. You also mentioned that you, "need to make a move quick." This implies either increased wages for you, or a reduction in rent, the former being the more likely option.

So focusing on wage earning, it sounds like the more immediate, the better, though much of the opportunities available would likely be more part time options, perhaps through an app, or applying for a part time position. I imagine these are not the possibilities that you had in mind for yourself, but if they can bring in the requisite finances to help you regain stability, then they may be just what you need for the time being in conjunction with your current employment. In addition, this can buy you time to achieve longer term goals.

Are you looking to advance at your current position, or are you looking at a shift to another company, or to another industry? That is something that will take time and development, and I would encourage you to work with your mentor in creating that path both for the short term and for the long term.

One last suggestion, based on my own personal experience, would be to peruse some free smart phone apps for budgeting. These apps have helped me to identify and save money I did not realize were there, and while they may not be the absolute answer, they may aid you as you attempt to adjust to these changing circumstances.

I wish you all the best, and please reach out with an update to your story to share to your fellow service members and veterans!

Best,

Andrea
