Any advice on getting hired by Big four accounting firm ?

Veteran

Yao Lu Northridge, CA

I serviced in military for four yeas and expert in logistic field. Because I had Master degree in accountancy, I switched my career to accounting field. After I ended my service with military, I worked in both Private corporation and public accounting firm. I work at a local CPA firm currently. My daily work involves taxation, auditing, and I am working on my CPA certificates as well. I have the big dream to work in the big four accounting firm, dealing with multinational corporation but I know working in the big four requires high competency and knowledge. Could anyone who works in big four give me some advice on how I should prepare myself for applying a position in big four ? and where can I go to network with people who share similar experience ?

I have a URL link to an individual who describes what he did to get a position at a major financial institution coming from a university that is not on their "radar" to even consider. He then describes what he did to get into Harvard Grad School to get an MBA. Everyone told him his chances were slim to none. He got into Harvard and earned an MBA. Perhaps his experience will provide some ideas for you. slmathews99@gmail.com

Hi Yao Lu,

Thanks for reaching out and for your service! I would suggest for you to check out the Community tool and search by company. From there you can filter and find advisors that have a background in tax working at one of the big four accounting firms. Please feel free to private message these advisors to set up conversations.

I hope this helps!

Best,
Molly
