Seeking to re-enter financial services

Veteran

William Biggs Thomasville, GA

Hello!

I performed mutual fund accounting with State Street and have since increased my education, skills, and potential. I desire to become a traveling bank examiner, portfolio analyst, compensation analyst, or similar. I hope to complete a data analyst in R certificate soon. Thank you.

You may want to contact Omni Financial Corp, 341 Union Street, Suite 6 | Clarksville, TN 37040.
They give loans to vets and are a great company to work for. Good luck.

Hello William and Go Navy! Financial industry is up my alley and the hot spots are the NYC tri-state area. If you are looking to move here then there are plenty of opportunities here as examiners and on the funds side with fund managers and hedge funds. Operations is also heavy in North Carolina, Florida and Texas with some growth in Arizona.

Indeed.com is a quick fire way to search jobs by zip code and description with little fuss.

Good luck and let us know what part of the country you are willing to settle into.

Best regards...

I absolutely agree with Don Gentry with his advice on ACFE. I am a member here in Phoenix and we have monthly professional development meetings which are quite good and you can get meet 100s of contacts in the profession. I now work at Bank of America in Debit Fraud Claims but our back office staff often has openings for a job like you are describing. Just adjust your expectations on salary; I took a serious pay decrease from my Army career.

Hi Bill. A different idea. The workers compensation insurance industry has auditors that examine policy holders records and calculate audit premiums, after the fact, for large companies. This is a traveling job and is in the financial industry. Check on workers compensation auditor companies for opportunities. The is in the commercial insurance space. You can do this..

William -

Thank you for your service.

If you are interested in accounting, data analysis and are intrigued by the prospect of investigating financial misdeeds, consider the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (acfe.com). There are opportunities with public and private companies as well as the opportunity to establish your own consultancy business. Good luck to you!
