Sir:

I would recommend using Indeed, State Dept of Health Websites, and/or a Health Systems direct HR application process to apply. I used to recruit physicians and worked directly with medical, dental, PA, Psy-D, DVM, OD, and Nursing schools and health systems to collaborate on Reserve Recruiting. That experience taught me that networking only goes so far, the big hurdle to hiring healthcare providers in the background check, CV, quality references, and credentialing process. The face-to-face interview is present; however, CNRPs' and PAs' are high in demand and short in supply... especially in New York.

Of the Social Media Networks, I have found linkedin the best to network with veteran contacts; use it to see about positions in New York. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that most hospital systems have current reservist and prior service PAs' and MD/DOs that serve on the board of directors or are directory heads.

Many, if not most hospitals/healthcare organizations are looking for PAs and NPs.

Based on that, I would suggest that you directly contact those organizations that you would be interested in working for. The Human Resource Office will be able to share with you opportunities that are available.

If you would like me to review your Resume - I would be pleased to help you make sure you have a clear message and are presenting yourself in the best way possible.
