Mikhail...appreciate the thoughtful response, links and resources. Looks like great advice and similar to the advice I give to my proteges in my veteran coaching practice as well. It's all good! Will definitely share. One of my business colleagues in my nonprofit, Jack Killion wrote a book, Network All The Time as a quick download on Amazon and worth it if you'd like to learn more.

Great idea btw in connecting with others in the community and will do so.

Many thanks for you what you do here!

Eddie,

Hope all is well - thanks for using this site so enthusiastically! This sounds like quite the resume, and above all I’m really excited to see that you’re trying to give that experience back and help your fellow Vets. That’s what we’re all about here at ACP!

In the course of working with some Proteges in our mentoring program, I’ve stumbled across a few resources that might be helpful here. Specifically they’re about networking: A common strategy they put forward is making the networking conversation be about the person you’re talking to, i.e. de-emphasizing your own background and focusing on theirs. ACP AdvisorNet is a great tool for networking, so I’m hoping these resources help in getting the most bang for your buck.

Also there’s a lot of Advisors on this site that have experience in similar areas, and they could provide good insights if ask for them. Have you been trying to message people, ask them questions about their own successes? If that hasn’t been working then feel free to shoot me a message and we can keep discussing.

I hope that helps.

Best,
Mikhail
