What should a resume look like applying to technical jobs?
I like the suggestions thus far. I would also recommend that you review job requisitions at potential target employer sites to get an idea about the type of basic/necessary and desired qualifications they seek for any given “technical position”. “Technical s a broad category as has already been suggested, but you can apply keywords which support your areas of interest.
Basic/necessary are generally the minimum qualifications to be considered. Many time you will find a desired level of education or a partial amount of education plus some number of years of relevant experience. Also, any specific tools of the trade; CAD/CAM. MS Office Suite, programming experience, etc.
Desired qualifications may include advanced education, certifications such as project management, Lean/Six Sigma, IT certification, etc.
@Clinton - In which type of technical roles are you interested? Software development, DevOps, Cyber Security, etc.?
Hmm, not sure as Technical role is vague.
My suggestion, use glassdoor and linkedin to check employee information for few target companies you would like to work for in a specific city.
Then you will know roles your profile would be fit for, now or with some work. Then comes resume, even for that, you can get ideas from linkedin
