Veteran

Amber Basares San Diego, CA

I am in the process of starting a mentorship called Pink Diamond Ladies. I have the article of organization through the state of Ohio, I have a course description, the business plan, preamble, vision statement, and mission statement. I need a meeting location and a sponsorship letter as well as anything else that would be advised.

Amber, as mentoring and mentor training is what excites me I would be happy to discuss with you any questions that you may have regarding these topics.

If you are going to do some tax deductible fund raising, it is great if you can obtain a 501 (c) 3 non-profit corporation. We found an attorney who was willing to draft the By-laws and non-profit articles of incorporation. We built a veteran memorial that cost $100k, with some of the donations over $5k each.
The nice thing about a 501 (c) 3 is that you are then defined as non profit educational program. While there a couple forms to fill out every year, one that is filed with the IRS and can be researched by folks interested in your organization and typically the state has a license fee per year.

Hi Amber.

Thanks for your question! As a non-profit professional who has experience with both fund development and organizational administration, I'd be happy to connect for a phone call and see if I can provide any resources for next steps. You can email me at ggillespie@acp-usa.org if you feel that would be helpful.

Best,
Genevieve
