William - If you have a bachelor's degree, you should be able to apply for a teacher's license and start working as a substitute teacher. This will help you get your foot in the door for a longer-term career in education.

For advertisement, you could start by getting an Associates degree in Marketing though a Bachelor's will be more helpful. Or you can start taking courses in digital marketing on your own. Getting certificates in Google Ad Words, E-mail marketing, and Content Marketing would be a good start. Then search for entry-level positions or even intern opportunities at ad firms and digital marketing agencies.

Best of luck.

Hi William,

Thank you for your service! You may actually be eligible for ACP's Veteran Mentoring Program - this can be a great way to fine-tune your search for a career.

A Mentor can be really helpful as you identify career goals: They can help you think through what kind of career you want, how to make yourself stand out, and ultimately stay accountable to your goals. Trying applying here and you'll hear back about eligibility within a business day:

Let me know if you have any questions!

Best,
Mikhail
