Opportunities in Raleigh, NC

Veteran

Patrick Bergstresser Frederick, MD

Hello,

I separated from the Navy in the summer of 2017. I currently live with my family in Maryland working in manufacturing, but am considering relocating to Raleigh, NC in the next year or two to be closer to family.

I have done some personal research on career opportunities in Raleigh. It does seem like IBM/Red Hat have a large presence there. Are there other larger organizations that anyone would recommend I look into?

Also, what industries have a strong presence in Raleigh other than tech?

Looking for networking opportunities to make contacts in the area to help make the transition as smooth as possible.

Thank you in advance!

Patrick: I think, depending on where you want to be located, there are many opportunities including positions with big companies like GE, Corning, and DukeEnergy. There is a strong military network in NC, too, because of the number of bases; you might have some academy alumni with whom you could network.

Best,
Drew
