How do you make the transition from Investment Banking to Private Equity?

Veteran

James Chamberlain Erie, CO

I'm currently an investment banking associate with Capstone Headwaters and I'm trying to make the leap into private equity in Denver, Colorado. I work with terrific individuals and I am in no rush to move, but my ultimate professional goal is to transition into private equity. Are there any networks I should plug into? Given my long work hours, how can you best prepare for those interviews? Does anyone have experience making this transition?
