Who has an MBA with a Concentration in Marketing?

Veteran

Monica Gschwind Wildomar, CA

What kind of job do you have now that you have your MBA and what is someone with an MBA with a concentration in Marketing expected to make in this field or something similar? Could you share where you work, whether you love your job, and if you see yourself with your company 10 years from now?

Thank you to all!

I received my MBA from Fordham University with a dual concentration in Finance and Marketing. I was mainly going for Finance, but it was only an extra course or two to obtain the dual concentration in Marketing as well, so I did it. I currently work in financial services (Wealth Management) and cannot say that I really use my "marketing" educational background too much in my current role. However, I do enjoy doing what I do and make a pretty decent living doing it. I also agree with Sotir's comments and at the end of the day, you have to do what you love and the money will follow. Thank you for your service!

Hi Monica, I did my MBA with a concentration in Marketing as well as IT Management. I work at UPS as Sr. Product Concepts Analyst. I love this job and I would continue doing it 10 years from now. I analyze new ideas and concepts to see how they could be advantageous to the organization. I view the Marketing field as extremely broad and can therefore, lead to great many opportunities, especially with an MBA degree. Compensation is dependent mostly on your location of work and I think "Glassdoor" will be able to provide you with a better idea on how much you're expected to make based on the location.

The only reason Marketing exists is to increase Sales. If you can show a company that you understand a given industry, have valuable technical skills (using different applications and marketing methodologies) and can clearly present how your efforts can increase Revenues, then you can make great money.
