The DoD Skillbridge program allows transitioning service members to intern for a company for a maximum of 180 days prior to their EAOS to learn valuable on the job skills and potentially land employment with the company that sponsors the internship.

When it comes to reaching out to companies, that would depend on a few variables. Do you have a particular company in mind? A particular industry? A location? That could help narrow down the best avenues to pursue, and continue to use ACP AdvisorNet as a resource with the Community feature.
The Community feature will allow you to discover Veterans and advisors in your area who may be best suited to help you identify, or possibly even have ideas about how to contact, the companies you would like to work with.
All the best on your transition and search. I know the IT rating is a tough one to advance in, but your skills will be very valuable on the civilian side!
