Hi, Aaron.

You're looking for a small health and wellness in (Casper?) WY. I see, from your profile, that you're a health and wellness coach. I was in the USN, and had to look up what a 31B MP in the army is.

Questions for you:

1) How long have you been a health and wellness coach? How can you translate this experience, into an actual clinic?

2) Would you want to own your own practice, would you take over an existing one, or would you work with an existing medical facility, and offer your services, in conjunction with what they offer? For the last, how would what you offer compliment what they offer?

3) How are you going to fund it? Did you have any money saved up in the Thrift Savings, or some other retirement account? You may be able to roll some, or all of it, into a Self-Directing IRA or SoloK, to help fund your business venture. If you're looking to purchase a facility (either new, or existing), there are lenders for this, who specialize in various commercial endeavors, which you can combine with a SDIRA/SoloK, if you have that.

Aaron,
Included with in the SBA is SCORE which counsels you with retired business executives.

As much as it sounds like a canned thing SBA offices can be a great place to get information before you start, and contacts for later on when you launch a project.

Often there are county/city level SBA or nonprofits that can be approached with requests for sit-downs/advice for starting a project. I have found this is much more useful when you have a business plan and you ask them to poke holes in it, rather than just starting from scratch. Personally doing this saved me a massive headache in California employment insurance I didn't even know existed.
