Resume Critique advice for Energy Field.

Veteran

Deric Sowersby Trevorton, PA

I'm trying to write a resume but it looks like I left high school yesterday. I've been doing security since 2007. I don't know if I'm leaving out info due to years of concise report writing or I'm missing whole elements of a resume. Can any advisors with experience lend some advice?

Hi Deric,

Thank you for your question! I have definitely found that a lot of an individuals resume is based on personal preference. With that being said, I have included some links for general resume tools to help standardize your resume.

- Novo Resume (https://novoresume.com/) is a great website that has examples and templates for a variety of different types of resumes.

- Purepost (https://www.purepost.co/) is the same thing but specifically for veterans!

I know that there are other individuals on this site that can provide some valuable insight as well. I would try browsing through the Resumes & Cover Letter topic section (should be located directly to the right of this feed) to see what other people have written. You can also direct message individuals that you think have had good insight and could lend another pair of eyes on your resume.

I hope this has been helpful. Thank you for your service!

Best,
Taylor
