How can I get funding for starting my veteran owned business?

Veteran

Jason Arceneaux Lafayette, LA

I’m currently looking into purchasing a dustless mobile sand blasting machine and starting my own business. What kind of financing opportunities are out there for disabled veterans? I’m 70% disabled. Thanks!

Hi Jason,

I'd be happy to refer you to one a great funding partner who specializes in funding business start-ups with veterans. In fact, that's all he does and is a veteran himself! I am wondering if you'd also like to talk to me about business ownership. I am a Career Transition Coach who helps clients define their income and lifestyle goals and consider business ownerships options to reach those goals... for free! Please let me know if you'd like to get in touch.

There are several options for funding for your small business. Either your State Vocational Rehabilitation Agency (https://www.benefits.va.gov/vocrehab/) or the VA's Vocational Rehabilitation program (https://www.benefits.va.gov/vocrehab/) can provide funding to start your business. As mentioned above, the SBA SCORE program can provide assistance with all phases of business development including writing a business plan and applications for funding assistance from the SBA.

Jason: Please check out SCORE.ORG which is a volunteer organization part of the SBA. You can get free counseling on finance and other important issue to start your own business.
Good luck,
