I think that language proficiency would far far outweigh any financial incentives to hire a veteran for an overseas post. I might be the most pro-veteran person in the world but I'm not going to hire a candidate for an overseas post who can't communicate with the people who live and work there.

Just my experience…. Not sure how much incentive (such as tax credit $) by hiring veterans? But there are certainly corporate culture that some companies are more pro veterans. In general, the primary criteria is the job skills and experience matches.

Attached is a link to J&J job posting as an example. As you notice, there are global jobs posted including Europe. Job skill and experience match is the key.
