I am prior enlisted in the Navy. I got out as to switch my career from aviation mechanics, to writing and communications. I am currently a grant writer for a non-profit but would like to gain more experience in the media/journalism field. I heard about the PAO program and am actively working with my regional officer to put my package together. I would like to hear more about how this program can advance my full-time career and what kind of position I should be looking for to compliment it. Any former/current PAO's on ACP? I would love to hear your story to understand the program better!

Like any other military experience it can only enhance your career insofar as you are able to articulate how your previous experiences prepares you for the role you are applying to. You'll get exposure to contacts and relationships which is critical in that field. Try to get in-house to any public relations, marketing, lobbying agency in your area.

You may be hard-pressed to find someone who's contributing to the website who may have that specific life experience despite there being a lot of great resources.
I would recommend looking at LinkedIn or searching through the public relations associations around the country to find people who have had those specific job titles, and may be willing to provide feedback.
