LOOKING TO FIND A SEARCH / PLACEMENT FIRM IN JACKSONVILLE FLA. AREA

Veteran

Mike Gordon Virginia Beach, VA

Can someone help connect me with a company and a name for a job search firm in the Jacksonville Fla. area? I know generally that I am looking for supply chain / operations / logistics, but really need a firm that can guide and connect me to interview opportunities.
Thank you very much, Mike

Mike, there are some non-profit organizations that could assist you: Wounded Warrior Project has their Warriors to Work representatives and Hire Heroes USA. These programs are all about assisting transitioning service members find careers and assist with resumes, interview prep, and job searching.

If you want to go the military headhunters route try Lucas Group, Bradley-Morris, ORION International, or any of the others.

My best recommendations are to network on LinkedIn with individuals in your field that are in Jacksonville.

I don't want you to take this the wrong way, but there are many resources available IF you are willing to put in the legwork. The American Job Center system, here in Florida it is the CareerSource system and in Jacksonville it is CareerSource Northeast Florida. This system is more a passive system in which jobs are placed on the State of Florida's virtual job board at www.employflorida.com and employers can find you OR you can find the jobs/employers. I will tell you that not every job available is on the Employ Florida site, but generally contractors post on the site to remain in OFCCP compliance.

If you are looking for someone to go out and do the legwork for you, that is a different story. I post every job I find on the Jobs page of my website: www.veteransjobblog.com and you may want to start there. I do not make a penny off the site, I do it to assist Veterans. You can also try the Lucas Group or contacting the local Chambers of Commerce.
