Any advise on how to obtain the escrow part of REO sales?

Veteran

Kerry MacNeal Long Beach, CA

My escrow company is trying to expand from conducting escrow on the sales of 1-4 family homes into performing the escrow for REO, mortgage refinances and housing tract sales. I'd appreciate any insight you can offer on breaking into this wholesale market. Thanks, Kerry

Hi, Kerry,

Since you mention REO, I am guessing you have some knowledge/interest of real estate investors?

My first question is have you communicated with any of the local title companies, or real estate attorneys in your area?

You may also want to reach out to the local REIA or MeetUp.com real estate investor group. You may find someone whose services you would compliment, in which case, if they don't know who, may be willing to thus help you with that.

If all else fails, I would suggest BiggerPockets.com, a collection of real estate investors, agents, and other professionals associated with REI, and on the forum, there may be some who can help you, specifically.

Dear Kerry,

Thank you for reaching out!

I would recommend that you use ACP AdvisorNet's "Community" page to try to identify an Advisor who can speak specifically to this topic. The "Community" page allows you to reach out to advisors directly, and you can filter criteria by industry, experience and geographic location.

In addition, if you have served for at least 180 days on active duty post-9/11 you are welcome to sign up to our formal one-on-one Mentoring Program. If you'd like more information on the program, feel free to reach out to me - or take a look at the website and application link, that can be found here: http://www.acp-usa.org/mentoring-program/veteran-application

Thank you for your service and feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions.

Best,

-Bernard.
