Buying apartment buildings

Veteran

Terrill Beatty Philadelphia, PA

Hello everyone. I'm looking to get into commercial real estate and in particular I have a huge interest in buying and selling apartment buildings. Do any of you do this for a living or know someone who does and is willing to teach and show me the ropes in commercial real estate?

Thank you for your service. Go get a job at a big firm like CBRE. You will learn so much working at there. Here is a link for an entry-level job to get started.

Hey Terrill,

As far as apartments (aka multifamily), there's (1) Lance Edwards & (2) David Lindahl. Lance Edwards focus around "small apartments" while Dave goes for the "big apartments".

Feel free to reach out if you want to talk/email.

Hi Terrill - if I were in your position, the very first thing before I did anything else would be to write a business plan. Your business plan will identify your path to monetization. Without knowing this path, your degree of success if very limited in my opinion.

Also, SCORE can provide a mentor for your venture.

Hello Terrill --

I'm a licensed commercial real estate broker specializing in retail store leasing. However, at one time I did own residential income property -- not necessarily apartment buildings, but one and two family homes.

So, I believe I can help in at least some areas. I can be reached via this website, or at jeremy@theserwercompany.com.

Good luck!
